MUSIC CALL, PERFORMANCE, 2010.
This performances was my proposal to the independent art festival, “Reformance” organized by Miranda y Mirón in Madrid, in 2010. They suggested us to create a “remake” or recycled performance, as they called it, of a well known performance from a well known artist. We had to interpret it and create a new performance inspired by the original.
I choose “Conversaciones telefónicas” by Isidoro Valcárcel Medina, created in 1973. He called random telephone numbers, and he offered his recently updated telephone number. People were confused by the offer and reacted differently. In my “remake”, I called random telephone numbers, as well, but I offered a free song that I was improvising for them. Reactions were funny and unexpected some times. The performance was done in a living room, of a private house, with an audience that was able to listen to the whole conversation. The title “Music call” wanted to play with “Music hall”, the famous show during the beginning of the XX century, were there was music, dance and comedy.
